Apple ‘already making the next iPhone’

1New York: Apple has started producing its next-generation iPhone models, says a new report. It will retain 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch form factors and integrate Force Touch technology that Apple debuted with the Apple Watch and its new MacBook.Citing industry sources, Bloomberg reports that Apple suppliers are in the midst of an early manufacturing run of the company’s next iPhone models, which may be called either iPhone6s or iPhone7.

Apple first deployed Force Touch in Apple Watch as an alternative means of user input. Sensors installed around the edge of Watch’s screen measure the amount of force being exerted by a user’s finger, which is then translated into gesture control signals. A similar implementation made its way into the new 12-inch MacBook’s trackpad.Other than Force Touch, Apple is expected to make some major improvements to the iPhone’s camera by upping the sensor to 12 megapixels rather than eight, previous reports have indicated.Start of the early production run could indicate that the company is on track for August-September launch
